well…well…well.
Got a coworker who is very good at their job and who I respect tremendously but who just isn't happy in their current role for some very legitimate reasons. They talked to their boss (whom I also have a lot of respect for) about their concerns and then later received an email from them with some (also very legitimate) criticisms about their job performance that they told me was “nasty”. They showed it to me and in reality, it was not only very professional and very well said, but was more importantly, also 100% accurate. Now here's the deal. . . Losing this person will really suck for us as a company (and my team especially), but as someone who has been in their position many times before, I couldn't in good conscience tell them to stick it out or suggest talking to HR about it, because let's face it.…
https://twitter.com/WSJ/status/1571125587510435841 The little piece hitting back on US workers who have started to realize that they really don‘t have to eat cake, claims that corporations will track every little movement in their feeble 40 hour salaried 59 hour work week and make American workers bend over so hard they never again question their almighty, algorithmic overlords. LOL How fucking lovely.
I just wanted to say I love antiwork and everything it stands for. I was raised with the people that loves America, “hardworking” , telling you what to do type. I have been starting a new job as a .T.A with the district. This is the start of my career. My stepdad said something along the lines of,” you just gotta put 110%, focus on it” as if I don’t have school and work. He was talking about habits and I was like,” oh like me journaling everyday for my mental health” and was like,” no, just focus on work”. My mom is like this as well. It’s sad that they make so many comments like this and I’m getting more and more irritated. So, comment jaw dropping statements made either my older people you know or anyone about work that you found was crazy of them to say.
According to second shift it's “childish” of me to expect to be paid for my time, instead of being on the floor, in my gear, at my station no where near the time clock, 7+ minutes before I'm even being paid, so that they can go get out of their gear and leave on time. (Which is company policy btw) This isn't even legal in the state of Wisconsin, but everyone here is so brainwashed and “we've been doing it this way for 40 years, it must be right” or “we have over 500 employees, if it wasn't legal someone would have sued by now”. And of course since it's a higher paying factory job all the employees are middle class conservatives who think I'm the devil any time I mention a union. Been here 4 weeks and my patience is wearing thin, but it's also the best paying place…
