I knew this opinion would be unpopular but I’m surprised at how many feathers were ruffled by people defending how hard they work for their boss.

Just say roughly where you live and work. So many variables.

You might find your solution faster if it's relevant.

ASM doesn’t “accept” callouts

My boyfriend works for the same company that I used to work for. This morning after he gets ready for work, he lays down to say goodbye to me and I notice he is burning up, and shortly after he vomits. He calls in to his work, to be told by his assistant store manager that he needs to call the general manager because she “doesn’t accept call outs”. What type of bs is that? When I used to work for this company, I was never given that problem, in fact the same ASM would say “alright baby, you stay home and feel better” when I would call out. She is the scatter brained ex-waitress type, who honestly gets way too stressed over simple things. She is not management material but she was working more than anyone else which is why she was even considered for management. Has anybody ever…

In the Beginning Was the PLAN

In the beginning, there was the Plan. And then came the Assumptions. And the Assumptions were without form. And the Plan was without substance. And darkness fell upon the face of the Workers. And they spoke among themselves, saying, “It is a crock of shit, and itstinks.” And the Workers went unto their Supervisors and said, “It is a pail ofdung, and we can't live with the smell”. And the Supervisors went unto their Managers, saying, “It is a container ofexcrement, and it is very strong, such that none may abide by it.” And the Managers went unto their Directors, saying, “It is a vessel offertilizer, and none may abide its strength.” And the Board of Directors spoke among themselves, Saying to one another, “Itcontains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong.” And the Board of Directors went to the Vice Presidents, saying unto them, “Itpromotes growth,…

Short term disability denied because anxiety is not impaired enough to cover salary

I work a remote software job. I am a kidney transplant recipient (and thus have 1000s of dollars of meds if not covered), I have a hip replacement and I have ADHD and bad anxiety. I took short term disability in december because it spiked so high I couldn’t operate at work without a breakdown. My doctor saw me, heard me, prescribed meds that eventually didn’t work for me and eventually suggested a psychiatrist (whom I’m still waiting to see). Today I was told that anxiety is not enough of an impairment to have warranted the 5 weeks I took to sort things out. I am appealing but as I’m at my wits and anxieties end with american healthcare being tied to a job – do I have ANY recourse? I’ve already requested my lengthy medical history from the doctor in preparation for the appeal but I am out of…

Solient Termination

I am in a contract with Solient and am facing a decision that may get me terminated. I am unable to make it to a far away job site any longer due to my car and requested a position closer in my area. There are open positions in my area, but my recruiter is an absolute monster and has given me an ultimatum to continue the job despite my car being unable to make the drive. I have never been fired, especially by a contract company. I have only been contracted with this company for a few months. Has anyone been through this situation before? What should I expect? Should I avoid signing anything if I am terminated?
