I’ve been working in healthcare at the same hospital for over 10 years as an outpatient therapist. On top of seeing patients on the hour, every hour, I also did administrative duties, was team lead in several teams, and the head trainer in several specialty treatments. I never got compensated with increased pay or protected time to do this extra work. In fact in the time I’d been there, my pay had only gone up $5k/year in all those years. In July we were told we had 3 options going forward: 1.)We would have one slot a day where we treated 2 patients at a time. 2.) We would work a full 8-10 hour day without any breaks (lunch, bathroom, etc), 3.) we would work an extra hour each day without pay. I told my manager I didn’t agree to any of the options and said it was unethical. I…
Cannabis Dispensary
I managed 1 of 5 cannabis locations for a company I worked for. One morning we had contractors doing work on our front door before we opened. During that time a customer walked in to make a purchase. I told her that we wouldn’t be open until 11:00am but that she could wait in the lobby until we were ready. It was maybe 10:45. She had no problem waiting and took a seat. My extremely anxiety ridden regional manager was in the store that morning and came in to the safe to tell me that we had a customer waiting in the lobby. I explained the situation and told her we would help her at 11:00. My manager looked extremely flustered and walked away. She came back a few minutes later to tell me that I needed to serve her. I explained that we were not approved by the state…
Being punished for not being on-call
I'm not sure if there is a real complaint here but I figured I should ask. My boyfriend works for a chain electronics store. He's been part time since day 1. Sometimes they open up or hold interviews for full time positions but he's always been denied full time hours. They always try to call him in on his days off but he's usually busy with door dash or something else to make money when he's scheduled off. He told me last week that he's only been scheduled for 10 hours this week. Some of his coworkers offered him some of their shifts but when management was told they said “..no those shifts should be worked by full timers. But make yourself available for when we need you.” I might be wrong but it definitely feels like they're punishing him for not dropping everything and coming in on his days…

What is the point of an exit interview?
I'm preparing to leave my current job (software engineer) for a variety of reasons – below-market pay, professional stagnation, etc. Other engineers that have left the company have been asked to give an exit interview, so I fully expect it as well. I've been told that there's no real point to it, and using it as a place to air my grievances can have adverse effects on my future employment opportunities. What are your takes on it? Worth the time? Should I just skip it if asked? Use it to explain why I'm leaving? Genuinely curious.
