Seeking self-employment ideas
It's been nearly a decade since I graduated from college and I've yet to find a job I can tolerate long term. Most of my job experiences have been very negative, as I imagine most of you can relate. I'd like to find a way to be self employed, if anything for the preservation of what's left of my mental health. Currently between all bills and expenses I need to earn about $3,000 a month to get by, which I realize is not a large sum of money compared to what most folks are working with. I've held garage sales in the past, bought/sold things from thrift stores, worked multiple jobs and of course done Doordash etc., but I'm searching for more ideas. What are some things you all have done to earn money outside of traditional employment? Looking for practical ideas. Thanks!
I read a lot of the posts in here even tho some of them are fake. However as a European I’m saddened to see how bad the work environment is in the US. It looks like there is just no system in the US compared to Europe. I see sick people that has to go to work to look after themselves. I see newly graduated people not being able to find a job in what they graduated in and therefore has to work in places like restaurants. I see people being forced to go to work on days off. What is all this? Why doesn’t the US have some kind of system to help the people? In my country: are you sick? You will get fully payed for the whole day(s). Having a day off? They can’t force you to come in. If they fire you because of this they…
Get swol sissy.
working sick
Happy holidays everyone my boss has been making everyone who is sick come in to work anyways. Even people who had covid. My Assistant manager had covid like a week ago and still comes into work without a mask. He got two or more people sick. Then everyone got a cold and it was probably the worst cold variation so far. How are we expected to get better if we’re coming into work sick? And how are we supposed to prevent spreading stuff if we are coming in sick anyways? Why do only certain people get to call out? I tried leaving early this past monday because i have bronchitis, but i still came into work cuz i knew my boss would throw me under the bus or demote me from my new promotion. She came up to me after i had told one our coworkers/bookkeeper that I would like…
Personal car use
So I have to use my car for work(reimbursed at the recommended level) but it seems like a cop out for companies to get their own vehicle for it. Am I the only one of the mindset that comparatively a barista doesn’t bring their coffee maker to work so why would someone bring/use their own car? Luckily I pushed back and I have been able to get a company one for most jobs I’m on now. Just curious what other people think I guess.
Billionaires have such a god-like ego that they literally believe that people solely exist to serve them. They push so hard to make sure everyone’s waking moment dedicated to them. They demand everyone be on call to suck as much work as they possibly can out of their employees. All the money they make off of our backs, they use to build shrines and monuments to their own vanity. I’m convinced the only true reason we work anymore is to fund space programs for billionaires. The cost of labor has gotten so cheap, that there is no incentive for a billionaire to pay us fair wages. We have become slaves to their system. I truly believe this is the mindset of ALL billionaires. Their disconnect of the average working person and themselves is so great, that they no longer view us as humans, but as profit generators. Working tirelessly, destroying…
I started working a seasonal job earlier this month, and it’s been fine. It’s just mind numbing retail and it brings in extra money. But the problem now is the management contstantly pressures me to work more hours than what I am scheduled for. Whenever I am closing, they say I can’t leave until all my work is done. The workload is a ridiculous amount, and I always come up with the lie “I have a ride waiting for me.” Then, whenever I leave they asked me to come in 2-3 hours earlier than when my next shift is supposed to start. They do this every fucking shift and they make it hella awkward and pressuring and push it fucking hard. I just want to make some extra money and make it til the end of the seasonal period, but I’m starting to get really annoyed
