Even though she came in sick, without a mask, for a week and a half straight and then gave me covid, I am not allowed to come in with an N95 mask on, I am not allowed to work from home, and no, this job has ZERO benefits including sick time. She is the OWNER, she could have easily not come into work! Don't fucking go to work sick. Don't fucking go to work sick. Don't fucking go to work sick. Not only do I not get to work this job, but I also can't go work my other job which ALSO DOES NOT OFFER ANY BENEFITS. Fuck this, I will literally take ANY full time job with benefits that pays $17/hr+. It doesn't matter if they don't care about me, I already work for someone who only fucking worries about themselves.
My mum works at a school in the kitchen as the head cook, she has had problems with the management (people at the head office who have no contact with any of the children but who ultimately decide the menus and make the executive decisions even if it will affect the children negatively) and the school admins (who get final say in menus and ignore my mum's input when she tells them what the kids will / will not eat and go with what they think is best). She wrote a resignation letter that directly mentioned the school / management lack of respect / support for her and her team and sent it to her school's head and her manager. Head teacher came in to see if there was any way to stop her from leaving, it got better for a week then lapsed back into old habits. Management called…
One dude’s dream is another’s day
Why are people in this country so obsessed with “hustling” and “grinding” and slaving away as much as possible? I'm a 20 year old college student. I decided to quit my job at a shitty amazon warehouse (which I've been working at while taking classes) and take the next semester off and just unwind for just one semester, no longer than that – and maybe go on a road trip or two, pick up playing tennis again (which I haven't touched since high school), reconnect with some old friends, and generally just fucking chill out for a few months after nearly 20 years straight of schooling and 4 years straight of working shitty warehouse/food industry jobs. For the record, I live at home with my parents (we thankfully live near the university I attend) because I didn't have the money for a dorm and housing in this area is outrageously…
Be open-minded and work for me!
I was a delivery driver and I took my car to a mechanic after it had a serious issue. I was calling and updating them daily. After they found out it needed to be there longer because of underlying issues he fired me, and was very rude on the phone when he called.
Sanity from my manager
just wanted to share this positive experience i had past week with my manager. I work for for a it company with a small office and the company that owns us handles payment, because i still have school and other things to attend. I dont have a fixed contract but one based on my avalibality. Because of this i have to send a list of days i worked every month to the parent company. If you miss the deadline they will pay you a month late. Because i didnt work in the end of november in forgot to do this so i figured id just send it in end of this month. (most of the money i earn goes to savings so i would notice it to badly) So last week my manager asked me if i send my hours to hr last month. I told him i forgot and…
