Not sure if I got these in order, but doesn't this seem excessive for the salary they are offering? I will be honest. I currently make 110k with and annual bonus doing cyber security work that involves PKI and administration of 3 applications. I left my previous job because of overwork that caused health problems. My current job is a lot less work with a lot more support from coworkers. This post is offering less than what I make by quite a bit for even more work than my previous job and current job combined Am I crazy? How can an employer have this sort of expectation to hire someone? I couldn't help but laugh. It seems clear that the individual that posted this plans to run the employee into the dirt and move on.
Exempt from breaks
I work at an alternative school in massachusetts. School days are 7.5 hours long with kids arriving/being there for about 7ish hours. The first 30 minutes is reserved for meetings and planning. They say we’re exempt from breaks due to being a school. We do get paid for the full 7.5. I just haven’t heard of not getting a break at all. I’ve worked at another alternative school in the state and it was the same “exempt” but we still got breaks, we were just on-call for them. Aside from being fucked up, anyone have any idea if this is legal? We have a Union and apparently they are “fighting for breaks” so they are aware.
Professional F Off Letters to Your Boss
Ever gotten an email from a boss, client, or company and the only thing you wanted to say was F U? I can do that for you professionally! I can create a response email so professionally written that you can get the satisfaction of saying F Off without actually using the words F Off. If you'd like the chance to tell your boss what you really think- but professionally, let me know in the comments- I'm your girl!
I've been working at my current job for almost 4 months now, I've had a great track record of showing up to work picking up extra shifts and pretty much doing my job well. That includes going to other store to cover shifts for them and I was gearing how a lot of other employees don't feel like they get paid near where they should be. I took time after work to stop my main store and to ask about a union, to which my manager said he never thought about it and all he knows is that it'd make his job harder. Now I have heard from a friend of mine that our manager was livid and was planning in cutting my hours. Now he's put his two weeks in, but I'm still rattled. Should I report this to HR or just keep my head down until he leaves?
Sick of my manager.
So im getting reprimanded for leaving at 3pm today even though that is what was scheduled. My manager is claiming i said that i would do a full 8 hour (till 7:30) which i never did but now she wants to take it to the store owner. Not sure if she is bluffing or not but still. I have photo evidence that i was only scheduled to work 4 hours (on my day off that i was threatened to work btw). Im just nervous ig, anyone have advice for this inevitable confrontation
Found this, figured y’all would enjoy
i hate working so much
the idea of spending the majority of my life in an office five days a week is so depressing. the weekends are never long enough. i hate having to do stuff that I can't stand just to barely scrape by. i hate working and how it's essential in this stupid capitalist society. I'm not built for this, humans are built to live in a forest and eat berries and have a bunch of sex, not this
