Billionaires are labeled “philanthropists” by a dominant culture established by their own powerful tools to hide the fact that they pay less and less taxes. At the same time, they grab huge amounts of public wealth making the working class weaker and poorer.

I’m trying to come up with some short sayings/quick tips about the workplace that are quirky yet real. For example: HR is not your friend. Silence isn’t golden, it’s green. (severance) What are some others that you can think of?

Worried about unprofessional feedback

Hi all. First post in this subreddit. I originally posted on r/jobs but I think this is better suited here. I work as an account manager, facilitating operational requests as well as managing client relationships. My team has had an exceptional year with regards the workload we have had to endure, for various worthy reasons. I have a client who I have not been as responsive to as I would like, because my workload has been large the past few months. However I have not been negligent and I have carried out the supportive operational tasks this client requires. I also have gone above and beyond to facilitate something that my organisation historically is not able to – no risk to me from this, just some effort that I was willing to explore. After some persistent chasing by this client to several members of my team, I felt the need…

Holiday bonus

My company sent out a holiday bonus today of $50 for hourly employees that’s been employed over one year and $25 for employees that’s been employed under one year, which is taxed of course. Oh what joy!! A year of work to make the company richer is rewarded with $50 per-tax. Corporate greed at its finest.

Two customers drive off with 600 dollars of diesel, boss now requires 100/check payments from the employees that were on shift.

Is this legal? Are they required to pay? What is AntiWork's advice for this situation, since it's apparently pretty common for gas station owners to require restitution?

Im gonna quit next month

Don't you hate it when the customers are sweet, patient, and understanding but you never got formal training for things like the cash register, your constantly reprimanded for things you were never told about, and feel stressed every time you get your shifts. I know I do,I'd quit now if it weren't for the fact that we're understaffed and i like a few of my coworkers so I'll stay until after new yeard. I know retails suppose to suck, but no one told me about the passive aggressive, power hungry managers. I'm already savoring my leave.

I’m 22 and have only been working full-time for a year and already am completely burnt-out and just cannot do this anymore

Before anyone calls me lazy, I've been working “hard” my whole life. I got 99th percentile on the SAT, straight A's in high school + college, graduated summa cum laude and was top 10% of my class. I also did 2 full-time internships while I was a college student. I work a corporate tech job right now and absolute hate it. My degree was in a related field and I honestly have no interest in tech but it was too late to change my degree and I didn't know what else to do. I got zero training at work, everyone works 12+ hours a day, everything is remote and I feel so depressed and like I'm wasting my life. My job is making me do certifications in addition to working full-time so my weekends are spent studying as well and I just cannot retain the information because I'm so uninterested.…
