Not sure if this belongs in malicious compliance but I thought it fits here. I work in a call centre. Is a family owned one so not that bad by call centre standards. They dont have any crazy performance metrics so as long as you do just above the bare minimum you are fine! I somehow landed an cushy admin position on top of my customer service duties. Basically it involves booking things and some office admin stuff. Now onto the story, we have a manger who everyone hates. She has no life outside of work, so can’t stand when other people do have lives. For example, she was forced to take her annual leave last year since she never takes it. She still came in every day to ‘put out fires’ as she described it. Basically just annoying people. She will then use this to give out to people…

I don't want NOT to work tomorrow, in fact I have 0 problems working as long as it's from home, but I really don't want to go to the office tomorrow: the commute, the atmosphere, you know the drill. What are some excellent excuses to tell your boss you'll have to “work from home today”? NB: no sickness excuses if possible. Thanks a lot.
