I have been downsized. I have been outsourced. I have been shitcanned. I have been determined to be a “”bad fit” at least twice. It's broken me. I used to be one of those weird people who actually enjoyed working. No matter what the job always gave it 100%. Even when my job was nothing more than print shit out and deliver it to x destination, I was determined to be the best printer and deliverer the company had ever seen. But with every unexpected job loss that passion has faded and now it's gone. In its place is this sense of brokenness and the knowledge that I will never again feel secure in my employment. It shouldn't be legal, let alone accepted practice, for employers to throw their people away like used coffee cups. There should be laws in place dictating notice requirements and a minimum of 6mo severance…
My company requires any cancellations on our behalf to be asked for as PTO or UPTO. PTO is slowly accrued and part-time workers are not eligible for it. Any last minute call outs are written up and disciplinary action will follow. Sick time off requires a note from a medical professional. The funny part is how the children and parents you work with can cancel whenever they want with no repercussions other than. of receiving therapy for the day.

Work at the airport
As I’m walking to the entrance to clock in, the fire alarms are sounding and the building is being evacuated. I was supposed to clock in at 8:00, but am unable to and have been waiting with everyone else outside for the past 30 mins. Am I entitled to have them manually punch me in at the time I was supposed to clock in? Or since I wasn’t exactly “working” do I miss out on the time spent waiting for the airport to open back up? Other employees that were clocked in when this happened, are still clocked in
dear tipped employees
start keeping a written recod about your cash tips(even if you severly under report) the irs is getting billions to do more audits, and we all know theyre going to come after the working poor. you can near gaurentee they will be way over estimating your cash tips if you dont have some semblance of book keeping
Driving myself nuts….
I am surprised at what some of you are going through… definitely not the supervisor/manager I would want to be and seriously hope my employees are happy with me, lol. Have PTO? Use it whenever. Sick? please don't come it (you need rest). Looking for a new position in the company, let me at the very least get you an interview with the hiring manager. Looking for a new job, I got a letter of recommendation for you (if you weren't a total d-bag). Cant work your shift, let's find another shift for you or at the very least hours that can accommodate both parties. Unfortunately my hands are tied with off cycle raises, but I keep pushing and come time for performance reviews, i try to make up for it. I let my employees know that I am only where I am because of them (and its true not…
We all have dealt with the in between stage of a new opportunity but not solid yet. So how much time to give?
I work 20 hours a week. My job said a branch in another city was short staffed and asked if someone could help out for a “couple of days” I agreed thinking I’d probably get two or three shifts over there. For the next two weeks I’ve got to work there for 40 fucking hours a week with 5 days in. How does that make any sense? Should I tell my manager this is unfair
