I made one mistake at my job beyond that I’ve been early for deadlines. They put added responsibilities on me and I’m new so something fell through the cracks. I fixed it and it wasn’t a big deal but now my boss walks by my cubicle to make sure I’m doing my job. This really frustrates me because I’m an ambitious responsible person. I have this dreadful feeling that she’s going to fire me do I’m looking for new jobs now. One mistake. I’m pissed.
“make your voice heard!” coming from them is fucking laughable
And am in desperate need of it, as I have no idea how I’ll make rent this month. It’s due in exactly a week. So, I worked on a stipend as a classified worker for a school district in California last school year, last month of it was June of 2022. Should’ve been paid August at the latest. Have contacted HR, am told to send a ticket, after doing so + making many phone calls in which the director of HR sounded SO annoyed and eager to hang up (all she said was, “Yes we’re looking into it, bye.”), then finally being told it would for sure be in my November pay check, it wasn’t. Called again, all I was told was “did you send a ticket?” and my phone calls have been ignored and I have not heard back since (two weeks ago). Incredibly fucking annoyed and don’t know…

‘Met Expectations’ Vent
Started working at a bank over a year ago. Bank didn't give a bonus in 2021 because I was only two months in… Ok cool. Worked my ass off to get up to speed on the work and understand all concepts. Worked weekends to meet deadlines. Daily overtime put in to meet with teams in different parts of the world. Told time and time again I am doing exceptional and keep going. Took on work responsibilities outside my own duties to show capabilities. Busy lifestyle Led to me breaking up with gf. Moved to a new city just so I can fulfill certain days in the office requirements. Didn't cheat the system once… Was. A great employee. All signs pointed to me having exceeded expectations at work… At the cost of my personal life. I got my evaluation today, I only met expectations as epr my manager. We give exceeds…
Was asked to salt the walkways
Not sure if this belongs here as I'm just looking for advice. I have a job as a warehouseman driving forklift to load/unload trailers. This means that we have drivers come and go pretty much all day. The number varies from day to day, anywhere from 1-7 depending on inbounds. My job, as you'd expect, means I'm inside all day and not a single part of my job requires me to go outside at all. As for employees, there's only me and 1 other employee in the warehouse and one other in design everyday. As for the size of the company, not everyone will know it, but we deal with big companies. The best thing to put is, we ship out cardboard and make displays that people see in stores. It was implied that my coworker and I will need to go outside and shovel/salt the walkways to get to…
Hello Antiwork! This community cares about Parental Leave policies among many other things. The situation isn’t great right now, and something needs to change. One way to affect change is to let those in power know that we care about the issue of severely lacking Parental Leave policies, and an easy way to let them know is to send a letter to elected officials at all levels of government. The link in this post is to a ‘ready-to-send’ letter to our Elected Officials, to let them know that we care about expanding protected Parental Leave, and that things need to change! Use the letter to email or mail to your elected officials at any and all levels of government. Feel free to copy the letter and edit as you see fit to suit your own needs. Please share and further distribute the letter to others that also care about this…
Sorry for formatting, I'm on mobile. So to start, I left my previous job that was a 40 minute commute, purely because I didn't want those miles on my car, and I found something closer to home, and paid slightly more. We agreed starting Sunday (this just passed Sunday) I would work 11am to 7pm, then Monday and Tuesday would be 3pm to 10pm No issues. I get there and they said it was supposed to be 7am to 3pm. (This was for training. Mind you they hired me for 2nd shift.) They said it was fine. The next day I show up at 3, they said it was supposed to be 11-7 because ???. The next day, they didn't tell me about the change again, I arrived at 3, they told me it was 11-7… Now the worst part, because of their fuck ups, today I was supposed to…
I work at a large financial firm and we are losing many many people who have been here for years- including myself and the ceo/executives don’t bat an eye. Are these people blind or delusional? Or just stupid?
