How do I- how do I cope with stress? I do what I can of course How do you reduce the stress that this job is having on me? There are other jobs with less stress, and I am applying for those jobs on the side. I see you congratulating the team for handling extra workloads when we are understaffed, and how thankful you are in those times. What are you doing to properly staff your team? It would really help my stress level if I had a paid day-off and some extra money for a massage after being verbally abused or sexually harassed by a client, starting immediately after that call. I can take a walk and journal but I can also do that while working a less-stressful job 🙂
Happy Fucking Anniversary
I recently celebrated my 15th year with a company that I have been with 15/20 years of my working life (age 16 was my first job). Was shown appreciation by receiving a small Starbucks frappe from the owner. I suppose it is true that the hardest, most dedicated employees just get fucked over to the point where they DGAF. No raise, no bonus, no extra vacation time. A small frappe…..am I being ridiculous??
Should I be paid to wait?
Should I be paid when I show up on time but then have to wait 20 minutes or more to clock in because my coworker who has the keys to the store is always late? I know if I was this consistently late I would get fired, but also I am spending my time and not getting paid for it. Posted while waiting outside listening to the phone ring off the hook Edit for context: this is a small pizza shop with 3 employees. The 2 owners have never had a restaurant before and took over this franchise a year ago. The most senior employee has been here for 2 months.
Hot sauce over bonus

Sad realization
What work is good and worth doing?
Or under what conditions is work worth doing? Or under what conditions is work not worth doing?
I work in a doctor's office, and over the pandemic we went from a physical timeclock in the wall where you gotta put your fingerprints on it/enter the code to one on your phone. Everyone loved this one, but they just put a new timeclock in the wall again and turned off the mobile clocking in/out. Needless to say, I hate it. What would be the best way to make them go back to mobile timeclock? Aside from causing a global pandemic again, I can't do that by myself lol. The timeclock is in a hallway by itself, no cameras.
I (F18) feel like the title says it all, but I'll go into more detail. I worked at my local Dairy Queen for a year and half, I was employee of the month and up for a promotion. I actually enjoyed it even though it took a heavy toll on my body. (I have bad back issues from birth so standing/walking a lot causes some issues, working there actually made it worse), I had plenty of coworkers I liked a lot, there were only two or three that were unpleasant but the good ones out weighed the bad. Over all I actually looked forward to coming in to make my 10.75. Now back in late July/ early August I wanna say, our GM was suddenly demoted to employee. This was surprising for a lot of reasons, she was loved so deeply. She was about 50ish and treated us all like…
