I had a yearly review with my company back in October (work in financial consulting), and my manager herself admitted when I asked for a raise that they brought me on much lower than they should have and I should realistically be seeing a $15-20k/yr increase, dependent in part on the client's reaction to a rate increase. Didn't think that made sense at the time, since the client doesn't write my paychecks, but whatever. Two damn months go by, no increase, no communication other than “we're working on it.” Finally get told today that I'll be seeing a $1/hr increase to my payrate, amounting to about $2k more per year. Get told that the client is hoping to convert me over to their team at some point so to “really show them what I can do!” Fuck that lol. In what world do these pricks think they can bait and…
Withholding last check
So I got fired last week, and the company is trying to withhold the value of the work phone from my last check because they can’t unlock it and I told them I don’t remember the code. Is this something they can really do?
I am a salaried wfh employee with the expectation of working from 9am to 5pm. Every Monday I have a team meeting at 9:30am and I wake up every day a little before 9am so I haven’t had an issue with these 9:30 meetings in the past. Today my boss’ boss who sets up these team meetings sent an email out at 7AM that she rescheduled the team meeting for 8:30am and hopes that it works for everyone. I wake up at 8:50 to find that I missed the meeting and my boss is a little upset that I’ve missed it. I find it to be unfair that they switch up a meeting to a time before my start time and do so before the work day started. I have a check-in with my boss tomorrow and expressing that I feel morning meetings are rescheduled outside of work hours that…
As the title says, our supervisor has been getting very cliquey and unreasonable these past few weeks. He barks out unreasonable orders, demanding I do the dumbest things even if he’s readily available to do them himself. Other times, he’ll tell me to do something, but someone else is at the work station, so he’ll assign that duty to said work station person. If that person forgets, I get the blame. All of this is only exacerbated when his lapdog assistant gets involved who makes the same unreasonable demands strictly to feel a sense of power. When I call them out on things when they get too unreasonable, they give up then later on gang up on me, whether it’s talking over me when I raise a logical concern or just talking down to me in general. Today it came to a head when I got my hours cut in…
I work a difficult job in a professional setting and I’m not very productive past maybe 4-5 hours max of work. Anything more and I’m spent and whatever I produce is garbage. I’d rather get no lunch and leave early after 4-5 hrs. Anyone with me? No point in making me stay when I won’t produce anything of substance after a few hours.

Do I have to do another drug test?
Last week I was called into the office at work and I was asked to do a drug test to see if I’ve been smoking weed. I agreed to do the test and I failed it. Work sent the drug test to a laboratory for further testing. However, due to the postal strikes and the length of time it’s taken for the results HR have said the test results have expired. HR asked me to go in for another test today. They say I need to do another test quickly because I have my disciplinary hearing in two days. I refused to do a second one because I’ve already agreed and conducted one previously. I understand this will look bad but I need to keep my job. I live in the UK.
