“Why the Fed Must Cause More Pain to the Job Market to Fix Inflation” Fuck this shitty earth. The corporate media is running defense for the Federal Reserve’s mission to increase the unemployment rate in order to bring down wages.

“The unemployment rate might have to rise to 4.5%—and stay there a while—before the central bank declares victory.” If you're a worker, the government is not your friend. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/m/a1318e83-d4ab-326d-96fc-da5571946fea/why-the-fed-must-cause-more.html

Be cautious of your owners kids/grandkids

I work at a place, let’s call it, where the owners kid is taking over as manager. It has been a struggle so far, but the most notable thing came to my attention today. My coworker has worked there for over 13 years, and has always had a five day schedule. Well, come to find out, they’re cutting his days down to three for the off season. And the new manager told him in a text. No conversation. Just a text. If an employee of over a decade can lose their scheduled days just like that, it’s clear this is no longer a company that values it’s employees. That was the final straw (along with paying me less than new hires, who do immensely less work and a crappier job than me). I’m officially applying for other jobs. This is so disheartening. It’s actually breaking my heart but I can’t…

“Rail workers warn of exodus after Congress forces through deal”

'“I don’t think you’ll just see half of the workforce disappear, but you’ll see a good percentage, and we can’t afford for anybody to leave because we’re so undermanned as it is,” said Hugh Sawyer, an Atlanta-based engineer at Norfolk Southern.' 'Workers say that some employees could leave as soon as they receive back pay and cash bonuses, which will average roughly $16,000 per person. Railroads will dole out that money within 60 days.' https://www.yahoo.com/news/no-paid-sick-leave-could-110000705.html

Kroger COVID Pay

So I worked for Kroger (Ralphs) for a few months, absolutely hated it, and just became a no-show towards the end of October. Before that, while I was still working there I caught COVID and was supposed to receive sick pay for the time that I was missing. I never received the sick pay, should I contact the union?

Basically – F your freedom, we want to control your life

During the pandemic these asshole corporations and the government allowed us peasants to work from home so that they don’t lose out on profits. And these guys tripled their profits while we worked at home. Now that the pandemic is gone, they want us back in the office. Like why? We have proved that we can still work and be product at home. So they just want to control our lives. Basically they are saying – fuck you, fuck your needs and wants. All of us should stay strong and resist. Unless you want to work from the office or need to, there is no need for us to go back into the office.

“Unsecured Assets”

Just had someone above me explain how I could get fired or possibly brought up on charges if someone robbed the store at gunpoint or a coworker stole from my till because I don't drop the money off at the safe often enough for them. I'm pretty insulted by the idea that they give less of a shit about my safety then the comparably meager amount of money I might have in my till. The excuse that 'we have had staged robberies' really didn't help his argument.

Our hobbies defining who we are rather than work defining who we are

Has anyone noticed that when we don't focus on someone's job as “who they are” and focus on hobbies and interests, we usually have or can relate to why someone likes something? For instance, my brother likes skiing. I never done it before. I go skiing with him. I end up liking it. When someone mentions a video game, like Elden Ring a good majority of people enjoy it for different reasons. Most of us want a boyfriend or a girlfriend who we think is attractive and we all know what attractiveness looks like in different ways. If we show someone why we are interested in a certain band, and they are willing to hear us out on it and listen to us, we can understand why they may like that kind of music right? Morever, we are all born social creatures! We were all once children who didn't understand…
