Just had someone above me explain how I could get fired or possibly brought up on charges if someone robbed the store at gunpoint or a coworker stole from my till because I don't drop the money off at the safe often enough for them. I'm pretty insulted by the idea that they give less of a shit about my safety then the comparably meager amount of money I might have in my till. The excuse that 'we have had staged robberies' really didn't help his argument.
Has anyone noticed that when we don't focus on someone's job as “who they are” and focus on hobbies and interests, we usually have or can relate to why someone likes something? For instance, my brother likes skiing. I never done it before. I go skiing with him. I end up liking it. When someone mentions a video game, like Elden Ring a good majority of people enjoy it for different reasons. Most of us want a boyfriend or a girlfriend who we think is attractive and we all know what attractiveness looks like in different ways. If we show someone why we are interested in a certain band, and they are willing to hear us out on it and listen to us, we can understand why they may like that kind of music right? Morever, we are all born social creatures! We were all once children who didn't understand…
I work a typical tech job. Good benefits, unlimited vacation, work from home, etc. Our growth for the year was lower than expected because we focused too much on getting new customers rather than improving things for our existing customers. Because of this, many of our customers found alternatives to our products and the value lowered even more. The value of my shares, which were essentially my entire retirement plan, have more than halved in one year. The company just announced a massive layoff of about 100+ contractors. They claimed that any layoffs were off the table for the remainder of the year before this. They’re now claiming that the layoffs were only off the table for non-contract full time employees, which was not specified there. We just held a company-wide meeting with one of our CEOs and he basically confirmed that we are in a tight spot and will…

My job at the hospital is classified as 'non-revenue generating' and since the CDC has been relaxing COVID guidelines all year, they decided to lay off an entire position effective January 1st. They claim they'll help us find new positions in the hospital, but after applying at over two dozen positions in the last week and getting exactly 0 interviews, I'd bet my firstborn that they're lying. I already loathe this time of year to the point where I have panic attacks from holiday-related stress at least once a week, and I'm being told I have to find a new job in a town where the only thing smaller than the average IQ is the number of open positions who will hire someone with a degree. It's enough to make me scream. I didn't even really like this job, but the minimum wage for the hospital as a whole is…
So this is a rant I’m applying to jobs, I send in my resume, but then they make me go to there company website, and fill out things like employment history or something that’s already on my resume I made it and turned it in because you asked me to, so fucking read it

Is it legal for bosses to listen in on employee conversations via cameras/ shoplifting monitors?
So I‘m an external working at a large bank and our internal project manager is the most unprofessional dickhead. Today he threatened me to basically kick me off the project because I basically wrote him that our proposed idea is actually more efficient than what he had proposed. The guy literarily said that I was being „insubordinate“ part of my job is pushing back when we think we have a better idea/solution whatever and I‘m so tired of always having to think about the consequences in situations like that instead of sticking up for myself…how it might burn bridges, negatively effect my career etc. It‘s making me so mad but I deleted my mail response to him and just forwarded his mail to my manager, saying how unprofessional I think this is…nothin will happen, his whole team of internals is just taking his bullshit and our manager has no incentive…
