A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request.
As a Brazilian this whole discussion is absurd. Here, we all have sick days. Not unpayed, full compensated sick days. Everyone. It's law. You have a medical order saying you can't work? Stay at home bro. If it's for more than 15 days, the federal government will pick up the slack and pay tour wages in form of a “sick insurance”. For as long as it takes. And, in the meantime, you're protected from firing, and in the months following your return. It's madness in the US. It really makes on think, its very easy to have a big economy and produce hundreds billionaires when you're making it all at the backs of the labour class.
Neoliberals invading r/antiwork
This was my favorite community , until recently , Now I keep seeing neoliberals posting in r/antiwork How to spot one: They blame workers, Trumper's being their favorite , instead of corporations/billionaires. They'll usually start with “Why do so many vote against thier own interest…blah, neoliberal lie, blah…” The U.S. is an Oligarchy (Has been for 50 YEARS) and voting has NO, NONE , NADA affect on policy. Billionaires get what they want regardless of which party is in charge. There's several peer reviewed studies providing this evidence . Capitalists/Billionaires and Capitalism is 100% the problem and NOTHING ELSE!
Manager on £105,000 salary says all he does is ‘read, eat and go for long walks’ | Metro News
Am I crazy for seeing it this way? I know this isn’t how it ends up working out but what are civil servants if not to ensure the government continues to work for its people? At least on paper. It seems people will either think of a given representative as some sort of ruler/authority figure or some weird celebrity, and then form an opinion of them based around this persona. I wonder if this dynamic will ever change. We can vote them in, we can vote them out, we pay them through our taxes and expect a return on that in the form of a functioning society. It makes sense to me to look at it as an employee/employer relationship.
