(If not allowed, please remove my post) Hello, I work at this wedding chapel that employs a lot of people. I’ve been only working there since July and I like the job. It’s good money, with hourly pay, commissions and tips. There’s several department on the company and I work at the media department. On top of other events that the company organize, such as food drive, Halloween trunk or treat and this upcoming Gala where they “celebrate” rockstars (us). First off, I don’t really try to make friends at work. Sure, I’ll get a couple drinks or smoke a joint with some but what’s about it. I’m not like anti social or mean to everyone but I try keep my personal life and my work life separate to avoid any drama. Like for example, there’s this one guy at work who keeps inviting me to group hangouts after work…
I can’t find a job
I've been unemployed for a little over a month and I have applied to so many places and been repeatedly turned down or not called back. I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. One company turned me down within 10 minutes of viewing my application and resume. I honestly hate working, but my family needs the money. I'm helping my parents get by and my savings are dwindling. My dad is already burnt out and trying to find a second job, I can't let him do that to himself, I have to find something. I have an associate in arts, I have a lot of clerical and customer service experience. I worked as an obituary editor at a news paper in high-school, I'm a good candidate for many jobs so why can't I get a response? My dad said that I may be over qualified for some positions, but I'm…
Offer letter
I work in the massage industry and have completed literally everything including in person training to start this job. They still haven’t given me an offer letter so I’ve messaged both the clinic manager and the regional manager about it twice. I feel like I’m being pushy, but also annoyed that I’m having to chase behind them for this.
I Quit Last Tuesday on The Spot
Let me start this off by saying I have been trying to get my schedule changed for a year. I have been working night shift to help out my company because they were low on staff. They finally hired more people and I was told I can get my schedule changed soon I was excited! I had a conversation with my boss in October and they informed me that I can probably get my hours changed in December. Fast forward today I ask if there is a certain date that my schedule will get changed and then they says we don’t have a certain date but probably before February. FEBRUARY?!?!! Like come on now I been waiting a whole freaking year and this ain’t thE first time they donE stringed me a long for a schedule change! I am so pissed off I am trying to get my doctors appointments…
I work at a very unique kind of business, and I want to retain anonymity so let’s just say we sell a food item that very few people have heard of, and there is a large potential market for. Long story-short. The owners of the business are weird and crazy and have kept the business running for almost ten years but they keep making these self-sabotaging decisions that blows both of the employees and regular customers minds with how absurd and ridiculous they are. We are now at a turning point where we are losing our best location because the wack-a-doos forgot to renew the lease. They will probably still operate out of their shitty shops that barely support themselves, but a number of us are considering leaving and starting our own business that sells this food— seeing as how the long term survival of the company appears indeterminate. We…

I think my old job modified my hours
My old job I had about 2 years ago there was a lot of things wrong but more importantly I was doing overtime daily. We were always short staffed so I was doing the job of 4 people and i’d be scheduled 6am-12pm but i’d stay till 1-2pm most days. I was looking back on old pay stubs and the pay wasn’t adding up. Some of my friends said I shouldn’t be mad anymore since it has been 2 years and I have a different job that treats me better but still. I also wouldn’t get breaks for the entirety of a shift but they were able to manually modify breaks so I still wonder if that’s what they did to prevent them from getting on trouble. I am not gonna do anything about it now but I want it off my councious
I work for a smaller tech company (approx 75 employees). The business does a number of services from marketing/social media, to web design/management. Just recently our boss announced they plan to split the company into 3 separate companies and are canning our HR partner. They claim that with this split, there are implications to our PTO and benefits that they “have to” roll out in the new year, but are waiting until after the holidays to announce them, as they are sure to be unpopular. My question is: what would be the reason behind splitting up the company? The way it’s being presented to leadership is that it’s in the best interest of the company in the long run – but my gut tells me somethings up.
