Hello everyone. New here. Saw this forum and was like hell yea I’ve got some WORDS. I hate my fiancés job. A certain bug tech company that’s rhymes w/ vestguy. Well. He worked Black Friday, 12pm-10pm. But get this? No Overtime pay as per the new owner of the business. Another thing? He’s been there 4 yrs. Just raised his pay $1 above what PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST GETTINF HIRED GET PAID. he gets 15 min lunches and some day no lunches bc they are so short staffed (8-10 work days) He works in a smaller unit which isn’t customer service but for Black Friday the GM put him on front lanes because “he can see memberships the best” (no commission, no incentive) he is best in store for sales. That’s all he gets. Seriously???? He’s the best but gets this treatment? Asked to get people to leave reviews, buy…
I know your asking how that's even possible but hear me out. I recently applied for this remote work site in the fintech industry. They sent me a form to fill out and in you had to choose a time for the interview. My time was scheduled yesterday for 10:30am. Only problem. There was no information on where to go for the interview. No link for any virtual meeting. No zoom, Google meets. Nothing. Sent an email the day before and no response. Turns out I'm not the only person who they did this too. It'll be interesting to see if they try to reschedule.
No thanks. Get wrecked son
Hello everyone! For context; I am a young professional in Canada. I used to work as a nurse in a hospital but left due to appalling working conditions. I applied for admin jobs and got one. I was hired as a coordinator and I WFH. I really like it! I told my manager during the interview that I can be a very flexible employee but I do expect to be doing the job that I applied for and being paid for. I was assured, that this would not be an issue! (That was a lie. Keep reading…) However; a few months into the job my manager announced that I would need to help a colleague in the treatment specialist department. To be qualified to work in this department you need to have clinical experience/a background in healthcare and be bilingual, so they are struggling to staff the department but I…
The work Trifecta
Overtime pay is time and a half, Holiday pay is time and a half, called while in call and pay is time and a half. I Hit 40 hours on Wednesday, on call Thanksgiving and got called in to work. The work Trifecta. Called in on the holiday while in OT. Pay for the day? Time and a half. Work in healthcare so options limited. Just venting.

The daily morning briefing at Apple
Former employee of apple (sales specialist) But I guess what I’m about to say applies everywhere. Anyway : we would have daily morning briefing before the opening of the store (basically : managers would praise apple politics, talk about numbers etc etc) what thing that really made me grind my teeth was the “alright folks, have a nice day, and don’t forget to Have FUN ! ! !” We talked about it, and we all agreed that we would love to be able to say “oh ok ! Then let me grab my jacket, get back to my house, read a book, or turn on my Xbox, because working 8 hours a day, Havin to deal with creepy customers, lazy managers is definitely NOT my definition of FUN”
Fired for not wearing a christmas hat.
Yep, over a christmas hat. At a garden center during one of the most busiest periods for them. They were already under-staffed when I worked there. Now they're absolutely cratering hard with the lack of employees. The person who fired me is the son of the owner, who spends his days on his phone doing nothing or giving us 2 hour jobs and complaining when we haven't finished them 20 minutes later.. So this person, let's call him John, John has absolutely no concern over the way he treats his employees. He makes our delivery driver who is in his late 60s work right down to the bone doing solo deliveries. Deliveries that entail moving tons and tons of landscape bark / compost to customers. The delivery driver has previously survived cancer and suffers from hip pain from on work injury. Yet he's hounded at constantly to hurry up and…
So I am a cook at an assisted living facility. We have 2 positions within our kitchen: cook & dietary aid. Cooks can do it all: cook, serve, clean, wash dishes, etc. Not all dietary aids can cook tho. We have an aid, who doesn't cook, who moves things around & rearranges things in kitchen areas, manager's office, & dining room constantly. She only consults with a few coworkers. When a few of us move things from how she has them she gets irritated & sends texts to that person with questions & demands we not move things. It gets to the point where, when I moved some silverware from one holder to another & she got mad, I told myself I would stop helping set tables. What to do about what she does? Calling her out on it would just be an uphill battle & wouldn't get me anywhere.
Hi, I recently got written up by my employer for money being short in the deposit on a day I was in charge. Before this, we had a disagreement on an issue and she ended up writing me up a few days later for the money being short on our deposit on a day I was in charge. She wouldn't do this before but did it that day to me specifically. Would this be a form of retaliation? Edit: the issue we had a disagreement about was in regards to her using tip money to fix the deposit.
