Boss puts together a holiday dinner but I don’t want to go. He asked me why I said no to the RSVP.

My boss wanted us to RSVP for a holiday dinner party. I didn't want to go cause there's really only one person at work that I'm friends with and they're not going. I'd rather not eat silently at a table sitting opposite to the board of directors like I was last year so I said no to the RSVP my boss sent out. He then emails me later asking me why. I was so insulted I still haven't responded to that email after a week and I've been avoiding him like the plague. Do I be honest and tell him or keep my mouth shut as I really don't have to answer him?

It’s so simple: Just stop using Amazon, Twitter, and Starbucks, and I assure you the world will be a better place.

Just stop using these companies! There are other retailers, other social media platforms, and there are a million other ways to get coffee, or cream and sugar mixed into your coffee with a bunch of flavor syrups! Just stop using these companies. Stop 1-click ordering. Stop buying gift cards to these companies as gifts for people! Just stop and let them wither away and die!

Stupidest job titles you have seen?

I was perusing the situations vacant and saw an add for a 'Delivery Expert'. It was for a pizza delivery driver, and the only qualification they wanted was your own vehicle. Not sure how that makes you an expert in delivering pizza. Probably the most odd job title I've seen since Subway advertised for 'Sandwich Artists'. What other overblown or misleading job titles have you seen?

Some help for the younger people here, I’ve noticed a lot of disinformation going around lately that’s hurting your cause.

A “scab” in an employee that comes to work during a strike, whether newly hired or not. “Crossing a picket line” is when workers, scabs or otherwise, come to work while there is a strike going on. “Boycotting” is when customers and consumers refrain from buying products from a company or corporation. People are getting mad at customers for going to Starbucks. That's counterintuitive thinking. You need Starbucks to be flooded with customers, to prove that the company needs its employees. You should be mad at the scabs. Not the customers. Generally speaking, when a boycott occurs, layoffs follow. Hope this helps, good luck out there.

Im at a complete loss for words.

I am in a Union and I am dealing with the most incompetent forman. He lies, steals hours, personally attacks myself and other co workers. I have repeatedly reported him to my business rep, Ive reported him to the Project Director and The Head Boss of the company. They are all aware of this fucking Idiot. Yet somehow, he manages to talk himself out of every situation possible, making it seem like the “apprentices” are the ones at fault. We show up to work today and I find out from a Co Worker that he split my hours into 2 different days when it was just 1 shift. And I double checked with the other Forman with the hours and it says 6 on Friday, 10 on Saturday. I was there from 6 pm to 10 am for a night shift. Now Its gonna get fixed I aint worried about…
