I was fired from a job at the beginning of October (largely because I have to get my kid on the bus, but not the point here). This afternoon, the guy that was hired to replace me showed up at my door and asked to talk to me about my experience with that company. I told him my actual feelings (they screwed me over), and the manager was a micromanaging ass. My concern, though, is, HOW THE FU*K DID HE FIND OUT WHERE I LIVE? I've never met the guy before, and he did say that he had my old phone and laptop. But, I reset and wiped those. I know I reset my phone to factory, and logged out of all accounts on the laptop. Regardless, IT should have removed all traces of me from that equipment, right? I'm still on good terms with the branch manager that hired…
recently the grocery store where i work had a 15 hour sale. during the morning shift they had about 4 people working in my department, but from 2 pm -7pm i was all on my own. one of the store managers (not my department manager) told me to put out more honeycrisp apples because they were on sale (there were still plenty of apples on our display at the time) no big deal, but i had to start closing down the salad bar soon. i run to the back and grab some apples, and then some customers ask if we have anymore sweet potatoes because they didn’t like the ones we had left (manager from before saw this happen) as i ran to the back to get more, they yelled “russets too.” i scramble to find those items and the customers are gone, so i leave the box near the…
Back in 2017 when I was looking for my first true job. My dad would try to drive me around town trying to go door to door to hand in my application. Even back in those days I knew everything was done online. He finally got the message after the first rejections to tell me to apply online. Anyone else have a similar situation trying to get their Boomer relatives that applications are only done online these days?
I keep seeing two type of posts on here, the chats where someone’s conversation goes something along the lines of: 1: I’m calling off 2: find someone to cover your shift 1: no, you’re a manager, you’re supposed to manage so YOU find a replacement And the second type like this: 1: hey, ___ called off and I need you to be here at 3pm 2: I’m off 1: Yea, but we still need you to come in. 2: No, im not. If you keep asking then I quit What’s a manager supposed to do in these cases? They can’t strong arm someone to come in
As the title says. My boyfriends job is super toxic and he absolutely hates it and dreads going to work everyday so sometimes he calls out just for a mental reset. He missed two days last week and they are threatening to hold his paycheck if he doesn’t produce a doctors note. This cannot be legal, right?
So I started working at this Artist Agency mainly because of the networking I’ll do that is also ‘Convenient’ for me as an Artist. I handle the logistics of the matter and it’s been fun to meet certain people and get to know how the bussiness works, however i’m starting to think is not very fair. It’s a demanding position cause I depend on a lot of people to gather the info that I need and sometimes is not that fast, they also asked me the other day to be more aware of my replies on text, that it should take me less time to respond. I need to say that this is a side job, they know I’ve got a main one that takes most of my time and they were cool with it. I’m thinking the porcentage could be higher since my day have become mostly on a…
Unreasonable PIP, need advice
Hey all, I have been out on a performance plan and the terms to be in good standing are atrocious. I am being asked to complete three tasks in a month (tasks that take even more experienced members a month EACH to do). On top of that, they told me this knowing I will be out for holidays, meaning I will not even have the full month to reach this goal. I would like to keep the job at least until January since I am on visa and if I get laid off during the holiday period when I am in India, that’s a nail in the coffin for me being able to come back to the country. I am also considering asking for FMLA, I have almost been hospitalized twice from the stress and suicidal ideation this job has lead to, which will pause the clock on the PIP…
I don't have much in savings, and will probably be able to get unemployment for 12 weeks, maybe more. I've known this was coming for about a week now. It's likely I'll be able to sue for wrongful termination as the situation surrounding my firing is total BS. I've already been applying to different jobs, but I don't want to be an office drone anymore. The question is, how do I not work anymore and still live? Do I go on welfare and cash assistance when my unemployment runs out or right away?
Tell me I'm wrong
Blacklisted From a Potential Job
First time poster here, but recently I was laid off by a company going through restructuring. I put a review on Glassdoor about the negative experience I had and was applying around to other places. Fast forward a month and I get an interview at a place that I didn't realize was a contractor for this same company I was let go from. The contractor called them up and the company was supposedly pissed that I put up a negative review about them.(it's a small industry) I got the job offer provided I take down the review, but than because it takes up to 72hrs for the review to go down the company rescinded the offer because the review was up still a couple days later. I live in Montana(a non-at will state). Is there anything I can do? Thank you in advance. I did look up blacklisting on the…
