Someone has to say it: Elon Musk has lied for 27 years about his credentials. He does not have a BS in Physics, or any technical field. Did not get into a PhD program. Dropped out in 1995 & was illegal. Later, investors quietly arranged a diploma – but not in science. 🧵1/ pic.twitter.com/ziuOMblwLJ— capitolhunters (@capitolhunters) November 17, 2022
The 67 year old woman working here had hip surgery 2.5 weeks ago. Left to work alone on a busy Friday (we're in a coastal tourist town, and this location is directly near one of the most popular campgrounds). There are 2 stools, they both say the same thing. I asked her what the ramifications are and she said “it changes, that's why it's written in dry erase” but they included loss of hours up to termination, according to her. She asked me to spread the word as anonymously as I could, she didn't want to lose the job, and I promised her I would. There is NO reason for this.
Union Dues in a nutshell
I'm Kate Broeking and I have over a decade of experience in the disability employment field, mainly with corporate Accommodation teams in the tech industry. I specialize in supporting employees with mental health conditions (depression, anxiety, PTSD, etc.) and neurodivergence (ADHD, autism, dyslexia etc.). Depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, bi-polar disorder, dyslexia, and many other common diagnoses are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and you're entitled to accommodations if they impact your ability to work. I've seen employees end up in bad spots because they weren't informed of their options. A common example is when people quit their job for mental health reasons when they could consider taking a medical leave or getting accommodations instead. I created Work Wellness Coaching programs to provide 1:1 coaching to employees who want help managing some of the unique challenges that come from working in high-pressure corporate environments while managing this type…
HR sat me down today
For context I was in the psychiatric hospital a couple of months ago due to work sending me into a mental breakdown. I ended up discharging earlier than I was supposed to, because they called me to let me know I have run out of PTO. Since I came back I've made the decision to look for new employment. Stupid me also decided the considerate thing to do would be to tell my supervisor I'm searching for a new job. Now they're all but pushing me out the door, so they can get a new person in. Mentally things have been almost worse. I've had to leave early to be mentally evaluated a couple of times. I've decided that it would be for the best if I take a break, and go to partial hospitalization. I informed my supervisor of this, and also told her I might not return if…
To fight against the land and business owners, we can use our collective incomes to buy property. By purchasing non-market housing and converting it to communes, that collectively provides all services and necessities, living expenses can be made dirt cheap. Just 100 workers with a general salary of $20-30k would have a collective income of $2-3 million. With shared utilities and food being bought in bulk, they could live at an extremely low expense. The majority of their salary could go to paying off the debt of the building they live in. Once it's paid off, the amount of excess wealth could be invested into luxury and leisure. Allowing poor people, who would have otherwise never had dreamed of a retirement, now be able to retire early in their life. Even those better off, financially, could be attracted to such a lifestyle. Communes could also provide plenty of other services…
Mammy for money
So Long story short I’m a caregiver and a full time autism services worker in Southern California I work 60-70 hours a week and all everyone i work with does is pay and treat me like shit. Is this normal ? I just drove to a shift and discovered it had been given away with no notification. My bosses in both jobs take advantage of my nurturing nature and use the clients as a way of guilting me into my sub-living wage and terrible working conditions. I’m made to commute constantly everyday and have been written up for being 2 minutes late or not staying for forced overtime. I also face transphobic passive aggressiveness as the most easy scapegoat for libs and conservatives alike. How do I make a change before I’m worked to death for loving disability caregiving but not wanting to b paid pennies to b spit on,…
This is more of a rant over something that just happened to me. Context: in February my doctor suggested I (26M) do some blood and urine tests every 2-3 months until next year just to check on the possibility of me having a certain disease. Nothing to worry much thought, as my doctor is really calm about this situation, and the tests are just to be 100% sure that i'm ok instead of ~80% sure. So, today I got my upcoming round of tests scheduled for next week and I already warned my supervisors at work about it. Their first reaction was “Next week? You know we have a really big project to finish next week, even missing a morning will impact the whole team…”. As soon as I heard this I already lost my motivation to even work for the next days (I kinda like the job I have…
Obvs alt account. I'm burnt out. I've been with my company for 6 months, and my company is actually great. My team… manager… not so much. I'm an auto adjuster and I generally like what I do, when the workload is manageable. Lately it has not been and I don't feel any support from my supervisor or my team. I talk with people I was in training with and their team dynamic is so different. There is support and help. Also, 75% of people who legit need to make an insurance claim are decent. 25% are needy, entitled, dramatic ass bithes and how the fuck to they function in their lives? Why are people so goddamn ridiculous. When I worked in life insurance with actual fucking dead people, they were way less dramatic. When I actually have time, I can manage those folks well, but I'm so fucking overwhelmed and…
