Hello I live in the uk just for FYI. So as it goes I finished and quit my old job at a big firm and had an email come through a few months later and it said they overpaid me £200. So I paid off £100 a few months ago and forgot to pay the last £100 now they just sent me an email today saying “please arrange immediate payment before further action is taken to recover the debt.” Right now being honest I don’t have the money to pay £100 right now what do I do? Can I just leave it or will this come back to haunt me? Any help would be very much appreciated.
My employer refuses to use direct deposit and has even suggested charging us for the convenience of not using paper checks if we were to change. We have the option of receiving our paper checks in the mail, but the shipping delay on top of the processing time for depositing a check seems even more inconvenient than driving to the office to pick it up. Should I be paid for my commute to get the money my employer owes me for my labor? Is that not viable because there's technically an alternative in the mailing option? I've been dealing with this for two years and it's frustrating.
I’ve worked a handful of jobs that required employees to fill out a preselected questionnaire about your experience filled with a bunch of vague questions. Had anyone seen any positive or negative change as a result of that following the annual time they require us to fill it out? Other than the occasional team meeting to discuss the results to give a sense that “managers listen”?
Stupid Videos
Do the corporate geniuses actually think that people pay attention to their monthly required videos that they make us watch? Seriously. Whenever I do one, I just let the dumb video play and then I do something else, and come back later and check on it. It's always on common sense stuff. Like safety, harassment or discrimination. Like no s***, this is 2022, we know all of that.
Background: I am 20F. I suffer from major depression, generalized anxiety, and a recent diagnosis of ADHD combined type. My job is just sorting and filing paperwork into charts. I also do some other chore-like duties, such as folding laundry. I make $12/hr, which is above minimum wage in my state. I get amazing benefits and PTO. My job is the best job I have ever had. My bosses are the best I have ever worked for. They are the only ones who have helped me with ADA things. I truly do love my workplace and my coworkers. Yet, I am so incredibly bored. I work M-F 8-5 and I am inside the entire time the sun is out. Rise to set. I do the same things day in and day out. Even on the weekends. Routine is good for me, but this is just so excruciatingly BORING. I feel…
