Accused and need advice

I work in a manufacturing plant in production. I’ve been here eight years. There is also an office with different hours than us. Someone from the office came to me today and said “someone up front sent me to ask you if you have secret hidden cameras back here.” I said no, who is asking? She refused to tell me. She then laughed and said “I already told them that even if she did, she wouldn’t say.” So now there is a rumor spreading that I have secret hidden cameras. It is not true and I don’t even know how to respond to it. I guess they think I record them coming in here with secret cameras when I’m not at work? Can I get in trouble? My company does not have HR or anyone to speak to when your coworkers mess with you.

I’m worried my mom is dying for her job

My mom has worked at a chain grocery store for the past ten years, let’s call it Tall Mart. She works the overnights. Her shift is supposed to be 3AM to 12PM. It’s 5PM and she’s still not home. This is a 2-4x a week occurrence. My whole family is of the “hard work pays off” mindset. I’ve tried to tell her that there’s a line between hard work and bootlicking, but she won’t have it, and my brother, who lives with her, only reinforces the idea that if she doesn’t work whatever her boss wants her to, she’ll get fired. I don’t know what to do. She’s 55 years old, she’s too old to be doing 15-16 hour shifts several times a week, lifting heavy objects and running around. She’s got an autoimmune disease and has fainted at work before. I don’t know how to get it across to…

Passed up for team lead but still expected to do the job, without the pay.

Wanna preface this by telling you that it's been posted in another subreddit. BUT… it is my post, originally. Someone close to me (being vague on purpose) has been passed up for a team lead position two times in the past 6 months. But they're still expected to “fill in” for team leads every week, and nearly every day. After passing them up, management attempted to placate this person by giving them an “award” for performance. This is after signing paperwork the prior week that essentially said, “If no existing team lead applies for this position, it's yours.” Sure enough, a team lead from another store wanted to transfer, and I suspect it's at the behest of the store manager, because the person that transferred used to work for this store manager at their original store. That's fine, I guess. But being expected to do the job, AFTER BEING BRUSHED…
