This kid made me think of this sub.
Work mentors and goals
I’m am an exceptional employee in my role; I meet and/or exceed department goals and manage a small team where we are highly functional. Part of the reasoning is I am very happy at what I do and do not want to shift positions or be promoted. My manager asked me to identify a mentor and set goals for “the next step”. How do I convey I am not interested in mentorship or getting promoted without sounding negative. I enjoy doing my 8s and going home. I am not interested in climbing up the ladder.
Based on unpopular opinion of others. I tried to keep myself. The union/management were fully aware. The person was had previous incidents with other people. I find it funny the people who harass and are more sexually active get more protected.
Did great leaders in history have coaches? As far as I know, they had. Most important is that the business leader takes on responsibility & accountability for their actions. That means not giving up his or her decision-making towards the coach. The coach should never interfere with the decision-making of a business leader. Instead, a coach just helps the leader get clarity to make his or her decision. Though, from my point of view it is clear and no wonder, I would suggest business leaders have a coach. Or at least use coaching when they feel it might be helpful. https://futurexwork.substack.com/
