What a shitty job posting
Vote posts in an anarchist sub.
Why are the mods of a sub rooted in anarchist theory condoning posts that shame those who don't participate in recognizing the authority of the state? It's cool if they don't want comments featuring the shaming of those that do vote, but why would anarchists, communists, etc. allow neolib shaming of those that don't participate in the broken system? I was going to comment this under that holier than thou post about people that don't vote, the one with 37k upvotes and mods blatantly giving it the thumbs up, but it's locked. Is this a neolib sub now or is it still run by anarchists?
My Problem with Texas Roadhouse
For context, I am a server at a TXRH and a full time college student- living in one of the poorest counties in the state. So don't assume I am making bank. Tipshare should be based on the tips I make- not how much I sell. If we are slammed and food in the kitchen, waiting times, or service from the hostesses are rough that night, it comes back on us servers. I can sell a shit ton in food and alcohol, but doesn't always mean people will tip accordingly. I've handed over up to $35 before to my boss for bussers and hostesses. And I am just one server out of the 10-12 working a busy night. Our out/cut work typically takes a few hours to complete, especially if you are assigned the more extensive ones such as drink station or server expo. Sometimes, customers will wait long after…
I'm autistic and so are both of my kids. I work doing stuff I don't like because I can't go to college to get a degree due to having many mental issues . I miss my kids every day and wish I could be with them and teach them instead of being bullied at school.
Here’s a hat for your sacrifice
I work for a fortune 50 company that dedicates an entire team of people to plan things that celebrate the companies veterans during November. This year the team of people managed to come up with; a hat (that has the company name and logo on it) and 2 zoom meetings to tell us thanks. To add insult to injury they were expecting me to drive into the office on my day off to pickup the hat….. It’s astounding to me that a multi billion dollar company can justify spending next to nothing on a small percentage of their workforce that they want to “celebrate”. Do you know what I would really like for Veterans Day? A fucking paid day off.
I don’t want a career
I did the college thing and now I’m working an entry level job making $17 an hour. I worked part time all through uni while I studied full time. I’m a mature student because I was pursuing a music career before uni but that left me burnt out and caused a lot of mental health problems. My partner and I are now buying a house and now I feel like I’m trapped working this job because we need the money to pay the mortgage and bills. I just want a job that pays a living wage, where I can put money away each month, take a vacation here and there and not be stressed about money. I would like to go back to school for my masters but that’s another $30k+ and I want kids before I’m like 32. Idk, it just all feels too much. A college degree doesn’t…
Irreversible ecological collapse
Dictatorship of the Bourgeoisie
It is news to me that commentary criticizing the act of voting under liberal (bourgeois) democracies isn't kosher on this sub, which shocks me greatly because a corrupt and avaricious 'democracy' is the whole reason people are 'opting out' of society. The whole reason there has been a dearth of voting among young-adults is because they (we) have little reason to, the last US election was between a bougie fascist and a senile fascist with the only progressive candidate being sidelined by the DNC. I fully expect this to post to get taken out behind the woodshed but it's damn sad to see people 'rebelling' against society while also buying into the circus that is liberal democracies. From Wikipedia: Marxists, communists, as well as some socialists and anarchists argue that liberal democracy under capitalist ideology is constitutively class-based and therefore can never be democratic or participatory. It is referred to…
