This sub is political now and has been infiltrated.

Title says it all. Talking about go out and vote? When your options are Biden v Trump, I don’t think we really have a choice? Talk about voting for change..we’ve allowed this to happen. No one said anything when our privacy was taken away, no one said anything when we were bombing innocent civilians, no one said anything when we destroyed countless countries for oil. Focus on one thing, antiwork. Walkouts, little videos of the movements starting up in real time. This is how you get real change, not voting on a piece of paper with two choices you never chose. Be the change.

Time Doctor

Hi! My company makes me use Time Doctor for time tracking purposes. However I also have this online side hustle that I did not disclose to my company. Now my problem is that Time Doctor takes screenshots of my screen so my company will know if I’m working on a different project. So I was thinking, will buying a second monitor trick time doctor into just taking screenshots of the monitor in my laptop while I open my other online side hustle on the second monitor? Will time doctor not take screenshot of the second monitor?

Don’t get me wrong I don’t particularly like my job but this is progress!

Received a company wide message today regarding pay that I presume is to help employees tackle inflation and rising energy costs. Which is a huge help and I’m honestly surprised this is even being rolled out! “• A minimum pay award for everyone within our pay ranges at grades A-G of £2,000 pro-rata or 5%, whichever is greater. • The maximum pay award will be £5,000, unless more is required to bring you to the minimum of your pay range. This allows us to focus our highest percentage awards to our lower earners. • There will also be an additional £500 cash payment for those of you at grades A-D which will be pro-rated for those on part-time hours. This will be paid in December 2022, subject to agreement with our recognised unions. • The offer amounts to a cash value typically in the range of 8 to 13% for…

a story that shows that you have to fight for your rights

I have been a reader of this sub since the first hour. Again and again it amazes me what kind of work situations exist – especially in the USA. I myself was born in Germany and live here, and in Germany too is a tendency for employers to become bolder and not give a shit about workers' rights. I want to tell you a story that happened to my father and show you how important it is to stand up to employers and stand up for your own rights. (Sorry the text is getting a bit long, for those who don't want to read the whole text, there is a tl:dr below). My father is a native of another country. He moved to Germany after his marriage in 1989 – my mother grew up in Germany herself-. After a settling-in period and some seasonal jobs, my father started working…

Is it true that there’s “no point” in people from certain states voting?

I'm a Brit, so American politics obviously doesn't affect me as much as my own country's, but it still interests and concerns me for a lot of reasons. My (American) friends and I are all on pretty much the same page politically, but they get so defeatist when it comes to voting. As I understand it, some states are gerrymandered as fuck and there's the electoral collage, so they don't bother to vote if they live in a certain state or district. I don't want to Britsplain their own politics to them or anything, it's just weird to see them share the same antiwork sentiments (among other things) and then talk about how they won't bother voting. One of them said that their state doesn't have a ballot initiative, so they won't bother. I only have experience with voting in the UK, so I just sort of take their word…

A restaurant asked me to do unpaid work

I have an interview to work in my field already, and already have a paid internship. I had a restaurant call me on the phone asking if I could do unpaid work for an hour. I said no, put the phone down and blocked them, know your worth people. I'm not doing unpaid work for someone when I have a bachelor's degree and should be paid for the labour that I am doing.
