2 Jobs + School + Injury
This is mostly just a rant because I'm so exhausted of everything and I need a break and need to vent so ignore this if you want. But I'm just so sick of waking up at 5am, leaving the house at 6:30, having college from 8am to 3pm (with around an hour break between 1 to 2) and then juggling two part time jobs from 3:30 to midnight some nights. On weekends I work 8 hours a day between both jobs. Recently my knee has been acting up and walking and standing for long periods of time have been difficult for me. I need to see a doctor but between work and school I BARELY have time to schedule an appointment. My knee is in really bad pain and I honestly need help choosing which job to drop of things don't get better. Either I can drop my job at…
Waiting for a job interview
Because I'm desperate, I'm looking anywhere and everywhere. Got an interview through indeed. Arrived 15 minutes earlier. The manager didn't even remember nor was on the property. I have now been waiting an hour and five minutes, but he said he would be here in 25 minutes. Really considering walking out. But this is also my favorite Jamba Juice. Should I walk out? I've already been waiting over an hour. (Sink cost fallacy, ik, but like I said, I need money ASAP like most of us normals )
Working vs. owning
It's important to have an office and people filling the office. It creates a workplace culture and if you fill it with hardworking individuals, they will drive each other to be better. Yeah… expect all of us do about 4 hours of work a day, max, then we just sit around depressed and hating you for setting the expectation to be busy whenever big boss is around. It creates unfair, unnecessary pressure than can only be relieved by faking work… where's the benefit. I swear older bosses cream themselves when it comes to their offices looking busy. More than the happiness of their employees… Bonus: What incentivizes you to work hard at home? No one works hard at home. I need money to live and don't want to get fired. Is that not why we all work hard?
If you thought Covid 19 shut NYC down, just wait until the Realty Advisory Board on Labor doesn’t offer the Engineers Union a fair contract forcing Union workers to go on strike. For those of you who don’t know what the IUOE provides the city allow me to explain. IUOE Local 94 represents more than 5,000 men and women responsible for the operation, maintenance, renovation and repair of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning and all other mechanical systems in public, private, residential and commercial buildings throughout NYC. Most of these buildings are 24/7 365 operations. These men and women sacrifice holidays, birthdays, weekends and time with friends and family to serve the city. •September 11th, 2001 – September 11th 2001 -The engineers are the 1st line of defense in a building fire before the FDNY shows up. • Covid 19 – The engineers despite the majority of the world…
