I work as a diesel mechanic and today I decided to leave a bit early around 1pm to hang with some friends. We currently have a high priority truck in the shop that needed to get done sooner than later. I told my boss earlier in the day that I was leaving early and he jokingly said that I need to finish it before I leave. The truck has a transmission and radiator that got sent out to be rebuilt and fixed. We got the transmission yesterday but the radiator is still out. Ok i tried to write about this under the headline but i fucked up. Noob with reddit, sry. Been following this sub for a while and i understand that this place is about American shitty jobs. But let me give u americans some perspective how fucked u are. Im sry for u guys, rly am. My gf/wife whatever, has been workin for this company for years. They get the full thing : 24 days of summer vacation : 6 days of winter vacation : they can stay off work for 1 day if they dont feel well, by their own announcment. No question asked. (Paid leave) : unlimited sickleave : if pregnant, 1 year paid : after 8h of workin, they get 50% more pay, after 10h they get 100% (if u make 10$/h after 10h u make 20$/h) And we get tax deduction from km(mails) we drive to work.…

I work security at a major site. My post is psuedo-outdoors. I'm inside the walls, but sitting within two giant garage doors that are basically always opened. Today I walk into work, and walk by my post on the way to my locker. As I'm walking by, the previous shift let's me know that they took my chair, because the higher ups don't want “outdoor” posts sitting down anymore. Without missing a beat I simply tell my co-workers, “alright cool, I'm looking for a new job today.” I've worked here nearly 3 years. In that time I've been given more and more responsibilities, and had less and less comforts, with 0 pay increase. I honestly didn't mind that much, because it's actually a pretty easy and well paying job, but expecting me to stand all day, without a pay increase, is the last straw.
