Cut my thumb and index finger. Pretty sure I'm gonna need stitches.
Saw this article and it got me thinking lol
My colleague has been sick all day, refuse to work from home or take a sick day because my boss was pressuring her about deadline. She even fell asleep at her desk but refuse to do a covid test. And now I wake up sick. Because of all this, I have to waste a sick day and a happy weekend to stay in bed. I dont care about deadline, I am not working. Why do people/boss not realise that they are making everything worst by forcing people to work throught sickness. I bet I'm not the only one that catch it from her.
Quitting my front desk hotel job..
Today I quit on the spot. I'm a female working a hotel front desk job. It is really difficult for me as I had many guests harass me in the past. Some were trying to gain s** favors and others were just entitled. I was at my limit because I already told my manager I was quitting soon. A guest was walking out and asked if he could park at the front. I told the guest that we charge 30 for parking per night and he can't park at the front because his car will be towed away (not by us but by the parking lot's owner). He could not hear me so I repeated myself louder and then he got all aggressive at me. And started yelling in my face, his spit landing on my face saying that I was yelling at him. He said the other new front…
I joined this sub over a year ago and it has made me tremendously more aware of the insanity of capitalism. I am speaking from an American perspective of course, however I cannot help but feel that things truly will NEVER get better… Anyone who is part of this sub has seen the following: – Horrible bosses and companies, no sympathy allowed. – A very, “blame the worker, blame the poor” attitude, this is especially true of the older generations who wholeheartedly do not understand how good they had it. – Endless amounts of legislation pushing to keep wages low, whilst doing next to nothing to even curtail inflation – Landlords who panic raise their rents with no other reason other than pure greed (and possibly fear mixed in). – The infinite rise in “influence” and “celebrity” culture that puts at the forefront this idea of, “you cannot be happy…
I worked as a manager at a parts store. We were without a store manager for months so I was the one who picked up the responsibilities to keep things running as smoothly as possible. They hired in a store manager 3 weeks ago, she contributed next to nothing. I was still in charge of scheduling since she didn’t want to do it. I’m taking my honeymoon trip next week and I was trying to get coverage so I asked if she wouldn’t mind taking a different day off. That caused her to start arguing and throwing a toddler sized fit because I guess I was acting entitled for having the audacity to change her set schedule, even though she’s the one person who is required to have the most open availability. I’ll post screenshots of the texts if anyone is interested, it’s a doozy. The day after the argument…

I wanted to ask a more lighthearted sort of question since a lot of this sub is pretty dark, but with good reason. I recently applied for a job and was at my second interview when they asked me for 3 professional references from EACH job I had ever had. I just thought this was super weird and had never encountered this before and was wondering if anyone else had? Also any other red flags or weird occurrences anyone has had while interviewing or with new hire stuff.
