How do you know you’re hitting a nerve? When they have to tell you not to think something that people know to be true.

I got a call from my boss tonight super late. He stated that I was to be immediately placed on admin leave but gave me no other details. I'm lowkey scared. No idea how to properly handle it and even keep my job if possible? Is this a good thing or bad thing? Am I in danger of losing my job? I've only been in significant trouble ONCE at my job and that's the only thing in my file. I talked to my boss a few weeks ago and recieved a written letter but nothing more was said.

Went to an interview about 40 minutes away from my house. It was advertised as a manager position for a tech sales company that worked “closely” with Verizon. When I got there I got immediate red flags. First one was that they decided to interview two people at once. Me and one other girl. Keep in mind this was my first ever professional interview since I had only been hired by amazon since I got out of highschool in 2021. I didn’t know what to expect. Long time lurker, first time poster here. I myself live in europe, Finland to be exact. Every post here i've seen is from the US. And what I read, its horrible. But how horrible? When you people are telling that wages are low and cost of living etc are rising, could some of you provide some numbers that I can get some sense of what is going on. For example I can provide mine and I'd like to compare them to yours. So I work as a practical nurse, I do only graveyard shifts in a nursing home (5 nights on the job 5 nights off, 7 weeks off paid holiday when 15 years on the job) I make around 50,000€, 35,000€ after taxes in a year, so that makes a little under 3,000€ in a month after taxes. My monthly expenses are around 1,500€, including 750€ for rented studio…

Hey everyone I hope you are fine. So, normally payroll is processed in advance so that salary is credited on time in our bank accounts. But, for it to be credited, the CEO of the company needs to sign a document to approve for this transaction. The thing is that upon signing, the salary is credited the same day or the next day and the CEO is purposefully withholding his signature so that it is credited a few days late. His reasoning is that in France salary is credited the 6th or the 7th. But in my country it is generally from the 23rd to the 27th of the month. We used to get paid these dates but this new CEO is completely changing shit. Every credit/loan systems in my country is build around the fact that most salaries are paid from the 23rd to the 27th and of course…

Am I alone in this premonition?

So I made no friends in a new job experience (besides people I supervise). I was hired under a lot of false premises. Company had a lot of high turn over, no support, and 0 guidance. I’ve been left alone in unsafe situations. I voiced concerns up to “C” level. Problem was that no one knew how bad the situation was before I spoke up. Middle management are working remotely and covering everything up. I see a lot of compassion at a high level, but NONE until I get to the top. I think the expectations was that I would shadow run the practice while middle management got credit. What hit home to me is during a meeting with a “C” I was asked “are you able to forgive them?”. I have – twice! The first time was when I was working for a company that had security cameras in the hallways that monitored employees at all times when not at their desks. The only problem for them was that we would just turn the light switch off, rendering the cameras useless. They didn’t like that so they duct taped the switch in the ON position. I sent OSHA a little note about it (obvious fire hazard) and the next day a team of 4 government people descended on the place checking every single thing in the whole building, issuing many fines. My employers were pissed!! The second time was waiting tables. The restaurant used ancient trays that were so worn down on the edges they had exposed fiberglass. I had a 30 min interview for a tech position . The manager basically spent the whole time bad mouthing the position and saying the company is a shit show. She asked me two questions that were very basic then said HR would let me know next steps. The HR rep called two hours and said they are going with someone else with more technical experience. I’m assuming they already made their mind up beforehand. I just glad I didn’t waste anymore time with them. Sounds like I dodge a bullet
