I’ve officially had it. I was an EA for the past 8 months busting my butt to keep my team in order, taking on more than I should to keep everyone happy. Huge mistake, because when you’re not good at one thing, people will only remember the times you let them down.
HR handed me a termination notice a month ago. She cited that I wasn’t a good fit for the role. She gave me an offer letter for a different role that comes with a massive pay cut, NO benefits, and NO equity whatsoever. Why would you even offer that to me? Well, we just don’t have the money :/ Oh? Bc of all the BS that the execs spend money on? I was the EA, I see the execs making stupid decisions left and right. You guys make well-over six figures can’t offer me basic healthcare and a livable wage? Instead you’re giving me a paycut? And you want me to continue working for YOU?
I’m so over trying to work my ass off for exploitative corporate AHs. Officially anti-HR and anti-work.
EDIT: In the midst of this restructuring, i found out that HR terminated another person (a VP) and promoted herself to their VP role.
