Pay Per Interview

I see so many people having to waste their time on bogus interviews, recruitment scams, and general bullshit trying to get hired. I propose we advocate for a law requiring an employer to pay interviewees for their time, per hour. There are already laws requiring employers to pay for training meetings/etc. In the same vein, you are there at the request of the company to perform a service for them (helping them choose a worker, answering questions, touring, meeting higher-ups, filling out forms). If a potential employer had to pay you per hour to be interviewed, they would immediately streamline the hiring process. I'm sure I've overlooked details with the plausibility of this idea, so tell me your thoughts.
