Hello everyone,
I received a pay raise of 6.8% after 15 months of working at my job, but the inflation rate is nearly 9% in the same period. I work for a small company where our salary is based on a yearly rate, and I worked an extra 200 hours last year without receiving any additional pay. I didn't ask for anything since they gave me a stock option plan, I felt like guilty but I don't have any other benefits. Before my yearly review, I requested health insurance, a retirement plan, or a dental plan, but they only offered me $400 for gym aid for the year after the review.
I feel frustrated because I worked extremely hard, and my yearly review included excellent or super rated articles. They told me that I am exceptional, but that's all they gave me. When I asked why the raise is below inflation, they said that inflation can fluctuate, and this is for the performance and that they use the stock options plan as a way to keep me quite. Once I asked if the price of the stock increased they replied that they don't know it for now.
I have decided to leave, but I have some debts to pay. I'm not sure if my emotions are clouding my judgment, or if I should continue working there despite feeling undervalued (or I am exaggerating,?).
Thanks
