I worked for a company for one night after they took over at a place where I was already working. They did not have a working time clock, so I filled out a slip of paper for my hours, as did many other people. The next day, they asked me to consent to a very invasive background check. There is no justification for asking for the BC related to the type of job. I have nothing to hide at all, but I refused. I subsequently did not work any further for them. They have not paid me, and it's been 2 months. Are they able to send me a check and somehow report it on their end to the IRS that no deductions were taken, or can they take deductions and simply indicate that they've done so on the stub? I'm not too keen to provide them with any sensitive personal information at this point. They seem very incompetent and poorly run.
