I gave 10% of my earnings to Manulife for 12 years and in the last 2 years, I've lost 30% of my contributions and I have to keep calling them to send my statements. No one is ever around to take my calls and try to fix my investments. Now, I'll be lucky to make $350 a month when I turn 65. Nevermind, when I lost my job and subsequently my house, the most they would give me OF MY OWN MONEY was 1 month mortgage payment.
Getting anyone to take my phone calls to reinvest into a different plan is impossible.
I have $200k, that in this present day scenario, I can never touch, but was costing me nearly $350 every paycheck. I could have used that money to give me a leg up now.
I can hardly see myself living to 65 right now, so chances are I'll never see a dime of that invested money.
Fuck unqualified HR people who don't properly explain this shit to young workers when they encourage us give 10% of our wages away.
I'm thoroughly fucked now
