And yes, people dont deserve a compensation when they don't do the job right. If I am clear about my expectations from the start, this is very fair, especially considering the price I'm willing to pay for solving a puzzle basically. Stop trying to take some moral high ground, I'm an employee myself and I've been hired to do odd tasks before. If I am unable to produce a poster is not the same thing as producing a crap poster for $5. There's a very clear line between passing/failing a question. No Schrodinger's cat. You either pass or you dont. Why should anyone pay someone who was unable to produce a poster? That, by default, means that the buyer would pay everyone on the site for “having potential to create the poster but being unable to create it”. And I'm paying offering to pay double the price for an optimized solution
