It's a friend of mine. She has done some jobs mostly in restaurants. They have clearly been taking advantage of her and not paying her enough but she has the mentality “well that's how it is”. I got my first job a couple of months ago but I left after 3 months cause the salary was shit, there was no respect whatsoever and they only had expectations from you without giving a shit about paying you decently. When I told her she was like ” Well it's your first job that's why you're overreacting when you find other jobs you'll see that this is how the world is and you will accept it, you're just new” And may I add in a completely condescending manner. I told her that I am not planning on accepting this situation. She looked at me like I'm a five year old child. Fast forward to today. I mentioned something about how customer service jobs are bad bc of the attitude you receive. She just said “your next jobs will be like this too”. I immediately said to her that if I make it in the field that I'm trying to it won't cause it's not customer service and even if it were I don't plan on accepting shitty behaviors and shitty bosses. The answer ” Don't be so sure about that”.
The sad thing is that she is 25!!! How can someone have this mentality at 25? How can she not want something better for her life and be so condescending to those who want? You're 25! Don't you have dreams? Sad.
