I worked at a pet boarding facility/daycare for close to two years. It was genuinely the most awful job I have ever had. I was constantly put in danger because the managers would consistently put aggressive dogs into the playgroups if they weren’t “that aggressive”. The managers were passive aggressive and rude. They had cameras and would watch and listen into conversations you would have with your coworkers in the break room. There were dog fights all the time. They would hire under qualified people and they would not know how to handle the dogs and they would not teach them how to handle said dogs either. There were times that certain shift leads would overdose dogs on their medicine or just straight up give the wrong medicine. By the end of my time there the turnover rate had climbed to 144 people in roughly 1 year and 8 months. I’m pretty sure they’re violating osha laws by not providing PPE for the high velocity dryers and such and having unlabeled chemical bottles. I’m too scared to report to OSHA even though i know everything is true and is still going on. But this a little PSA if you plan on boarding your pets don’t just check company reviews but check employee reviews as well.
