I am a hard worker, I'm nice, I know how to do my job very well. I'm doing all this hard work for $11.00 an hour.
I've worked 2 orientation days so far. She asked me if “I could work at 10:30 Thursday Morning”.
I said “I have a doctors appointment every Thursday, so it may be closer to 11:00 before I make it in to work”.
Today I get a Text saying “Hey. I’m going to have to let you go: the attendance is an issue I can’t just have people show up all the time.”
What. The. Fuck.
When I showed her screenshots she said “Well you were late Wednesday too”. I was clocked in at 4:07”. I walk 2 miles one way to work and I miscalculated how long it would take to get there.
Regardless the manager working said “It’s your first day worry about being a few minutes late today”.
I was verbally told that that one day is excusable. I am trying to keep a roof over my head I don’t eat because I have no fucking money this is crazy.
I promised my landlord I would be getting paid next Friday. I am on the verge (not exaggerating at all) of the being Homeless.
