Only a minority of people in the original thread questioned the motives of the person posting, or the validity of the tweet, despite thousands of upvotes and 700+ comments. I replied to one person (who since deleted their comments after reporting me and sending me one of those 'reddit is reaching out to you because someone is worried about you' messages, who labelled me a racist and a nazi.
The twitter account above rarely tweets, as far as I can see they have never said anything about living in Germany, aid to Ukraine etc. They're just a random Australian bloke who occasionally tweets about his ADHD and hobbies like DND.
The original post did its job in stirring people up and making them argue about taxation, healthcare etc. To be fair most of it was civil and only a minority linked those topics with aid to Ukraine, which I believe was the intent of the post to begin with. You may disagree with me and call me a conspiracy theorist, but the intent of this post is just to highlight something potentially sus and ask people to question sources a little more.
