I recently got a job offer from a company that seems mildly desperate for workers, and are specifically targeting people who just got their bachelor's. It is almost definitely an employee position, but they are very upfront about the fact that I will be 1099. If I do end up taking this position, would I get in trouble for being 1099 when the position does not qualify? I do not mind paying the extra taxes. I am not struggling for money and could quit at any time.
