Background:
A manager approached me via chat today asking me if submitted a quarterly self-review, to which I replied, yes. I submitted this particular review before the cutoff (19th of last week) as I’m aware of it’s importance. However, upon opening the app that captures this information, I noticed that my submission was in fact not there. I relayed this discovery to my manager in chat and his follow up message was, “We need to stay on top of these things.” I immediately took this as some subtle form of passively scolding a child. And my response was just that but in a different arrangement. He continues from here but I’ll start the post with this.
Am I overthinking/reacting this manager’s comment?
