Principal Telling People They Should Be “Comfortable Enough to Fart Around Each Other”

I just need the world to hear this because it’s insane. For context: I work for a corporation that has MOUs with title I schools to supply a “highly qualified and trained educator” at an incredibly dysfunctional school. Recently, a conflict happened between the principal and several staff members. We are forced to have early before school meetings tues-thurs. Originally, Thursdays were for book studies to discuss ways we can use new teaching techniques. She has a lot of issues. She does not exhibit a lot of leadership qualities and has intense mood swings where she will roll her eyes, sigh loudly, and cuss people out. I’ve been told by her multiple times “not to take notes” in our one one one meetings and have had my own issues where she will tell me one thing, I will do that thing, and it will be not good enough and she…

I’ve been told by her multiple times “not to take notes” in our one one one meetings and have had my own issues where she will tell me one thing, I will do that thing, and it will be not good enough and she will hold a grudge and tell my corporate supervisor about it but not me. The list goes on. She has removed meetings from my calendar then claimed I was “skipping” meetings, refused to talk with me, etc.. I know you all don’t know me but I really don’t deserve any of the treatment I am receiving. The kids love me and I serve the school in a very solid way, I’m always trying to do better, and I collaborate and get along with everyone.

Unfortunately the past few weeks, our principal has used these book study meetings to call out certain staff members in front of everyone and try to pit teachers against one another based on conflicts we’ve had with each other. It has gotten super f*ckin weird. One chapter was about qualitative data that teachers delivered to an author to improve school setting. She went in about how we always make it about teachers and how the teacher was using “deficit language” when it’s literally what the book said. It was a quote. One teacher presented and she was so rude and disrespectful to her and would not encourage any conversation and just called everyone racist without even digging into what we had learned from the chapter.

Today, someone presented and she lost her sh*t. She went on all kinds of tangents about how we aren’t doing our jobs and started a 10 minute conversation about how if we aren’t comfortable enough to fart in front of each other we aren’t building relationships correctly.

That’s all… thanks for reading (help lol)
