Private smartphone for work

Hey all, A lot of companies are asking people to install spyware onto personal smartphones. And in many jobs it is mandatory to use a smartphone to get your job done. At my job I have to install multiple apps for work, and take photos which I upload through those apps. This results in having to give many app permissions that I don't want them to have. Like full camera roll access, and gps location. I'm going to buy a second phone just for work. Anyone have a guide or suggestions for keeping it as private as possible?? I'm going to put a VPN on it, and mock the GPS location to always be the office. I also won't be signing into my personal Google account on it I believe that means I need an Android phone because Apple has many restrictions on how VPNs and GPS mocking work.
