Public vs. Private

I just want the opinions of both public and private workers. Debating if I should jump to private that pays me higher or stay in public. Public is kinda lowballing me with my experiences rn. Private obviously pays WAY higher but I just feel it’s not stable. Also, because they’re private, I feel leadership can treat their employees however they want without being concern about what taxpayer will say. In public, I know they’re bound to the public and are more wary on how they’re treating their employees. My uncle and aunts who worked several years with their company also got laid off while working in high positions. They have since join the public and said they feel better but ofc, pay doesn’t match what they made before. I know for public, lay-off are rare and there’s pension. What are the opinions of others?
