Should I go to HR or my boss first

I’m in a pickle. I hate my trainer and I am going to give a few examples of shit that he’s done. Trainer rarely wants to go over anything twice, and once something is said, he expects us to remember it much later. When I do ask him to remind me of something, he’ll say things like “are you serious” or “we already went over this” or sometimes just stares at me. He’ll ask me questions on things I’ve never learned before and will just sit there staring at me until I say the right thing. Sometimes even up to 5 or 10 minutes of me purely guessing, Hell assign 4 or 5 tasks throughout the day and keep asking why we’re not working on one thing at that moment, and when we work on that for 30 minutes, he’ll go on about us not working the other thing. Hell assign 4 or 5 tasks throughout the day and keep asking why we’re not working on one thing at that moment, and when we work on that for 30 minutes, he’ll go on about us not working the other thing. He doesn’t give us an idea on what’s a priority or not.

I told my trainer first about my adhd and anxiety disorders in hopes that he’ll understand and he said that I need to “get over it”

I’ve been going to therapy and I’m trying to get back on medication purely because if the stress that this trainer has given me.

I can’t afford to quit this job. I’m in here entry level and I’m getting paid 65k at 21 years old. I have no experience in anything else.

Idk if I should go to the boss first or jump ahead to HR. I’m afraid of telling the boss (who knows nothing about the abuse I go through from the trainer) because I’m worried that the trainer will know I complained and potentially make things harder or spin it off as me being the problem.

But HR will probably give a better resolution, but it’s also a huge deal and my boss will likely hear about it and the trainer will most certainly not be happy if he knows I said something.

What do I do?
