I’ve been working at this bar three months and was contracted to work full time hours. They’ve not been giving me them, this happened immediately after I pointed out I was in the books to be off a certain day for an appointment. When I brought it up I got the hours I was supposed to for one week then they went straight back to two shifts a week. I recently asked for a Saturday off to go to a trade union event and for the past two weeks I’ve only had one shift a week. My next shift is tomorrow for 6.5 hours, I’m meant to do between 24-35 a week (minimum) so I got a new job that starts tomorrow and I plan to quit my old place half an hour before my shift ends.
Everyone and their dog is hiring in hospitality. Your boss needs you more than you need them, doesn’t hurt to give them a reminder every once in a while.
