I am quitting in a week from my work of 5 years which I enjoyed until we had a new micromanager
I finally had it enough. After being ghosted, neglected and micromanaged by my manager for a few months (never responding over teams, no feedback just silence, his way or the highway) i decided to quit and found another job.
I had a pretty bad year end review where my manager blamed me for almost everything, made remarks on my assumed personality etc etc. and nothing good was mentioned on my last year performance which I find absurd because i am doing 3 head count work for the past year.
I was not liking his managing style for a few months already (very strict on our flexible working arrangements,wants to know what everyone does, strict lunch hours only for our team because because he doesnt like it) and because im a manager reporting to him, I had to apply his standards to my own team which I didn’t like.
After the year end review I applied for a role where our previous director works, I did not know my resume will be seen by previous director which kind of worked out for me.
Long story short, I signed the offer and I am waiting for my sponsored visa to be issued (i am an expat). The moment I get my visa and my bonus hits my account, I will do hasta la vista baby!
