Hello I already tried to post this under a dif username but right now i dont care how anonymous I am.
My work is doing reviews this time of year. I am a manager in a production /manufacturing sector making 57k, my department has been short handed and they won't hire anyone for over $20 an hr but now they are saying they're not even getting applications. You need design skills and school to do this job. We had our highest sales last month in the history of our company. Multiple millions. Due to inflation my salary is pretty much shit now and I have been working 46-55 hours a week consistently but no overtime pay. Benefits are decent half paid health insurance and dental, stock ownership plan, & 15 days off for usa. I was going to ask for 66k which would be my 2021 salary adjusted for inflation with a 2% raise. Do you think this is reasonable or still low? I feel like I might have a mental breakdown if I get anything less as I am so burnt out and tired. I don't go out or spend money on anything but essentials & live with my parents who are wanting me to be able to move out . I am often the one that closes the work building and I contribute ideas, cost savings, research etc. I have been at same job for almost ten years. I take various certificate training on the side to make me more experienced. I was able to get those below me decent raises, but I am not sure what will happen for me.
I am 35, living with my parents and have been saving for a house but they keep going up in my area. They are about 290 for a small house with some problems no updates but median price is 540k. I really want to start my life and am running out of time, can't have a midlife crisis if you havent even began yet. My doctor told me on friday if I want to have kids i need to start soon & all of this is adding to poor mental health. I ended up having jury duty last month that lasted 5 days. I still went to work after court. My state paid me a stipend of 100$ and my employer took it out of my check. As they could legally but It pissed me off because I didn't need to come to work I did it because we are swamped and for my team to have less stress with me being out so they don't get fed up with how busy it is. I was so stressed out going to court at 8am leaving and working till ten to get huge jobs done. I honestly have no idea what I will do if they offer me 4% or less, as I am at my breaking point.
