given what CEOs and corporate reps have stated, in that they want the strike to result in people losing their homes and apartments, i want to offer financial assistance in the form of meals.
as someone who loves to cook, especially for others, im willing and able to host some lunches/dinners in my home in Bushwick/Brooklyn to alleviate some of the financial stress that the strike will incur.
of course, if that (understandably) is not what some are comfortable with, im also happy to arrange an order of sandwiches/salads from a corner bodega for pickup.
in a way this sounds like im expecting the worst – that itll get to that point where meal assistance is necessary. but we all know how powerful the forces opposed to the strikes can be and what theyre willing to put people through to save their bottom line. fuck their bottom line.
tbh this is my first ever post on reddit, so i wasnt sure how to approach delivering this message and my intentions. but i hear yall and see whats happening, im on your side, and i want to help – and i know im not alone.
does anyone have advice on what is the best way to go about starting this informal process (i can provide a street corner and a time/date privately)?
