Hey everybody, I got “terminated” last Friday out of nowhere. It fuxking hurts especially since I had no warnings and my boss said it was due to poor performance. The last couple weeks prior to my termination there was no work at my job (consulting engineering firm). I should’ve been better prepared since I had seen the ad of my job being posted on indeed a week or so prior and I decided to confront the secretary as to why I had my position posted (I tried to be slick and said it was an ad on LinkedIn). She had stated the company wanted to add more people anyway, “I was like why would we do that when there’s barely any work?” She just raised her arms like she had no idea. A week after that they hired a guy fresh out of college and I really started to panic in my head since I knew they were replacing me for someone who was willing to work for less money (consulting firms are known for this)
Well now I’m feeling lost and totally betrayed by my job, by people I thought were kind of my friends. Now I am filing for unemployment. They’re asking what the reason for termination is and I’m putting down lack of work even though my boss said poor performance bc that’s the truth, there was no work or they didn’t give me any on purpose.Well this was more of a rant but long story short DONT TRUST ANYONE AT WORK AND TRUST YOUR GUT FEELING
